Vang Vieng DMN Meeting

01 April 2022, Vang Vieng District Information, Culture and Tourism Office (DICTO) hosted the Vang Vieng DMN (Destination Management Network) Meeting. The meeting was chaired by

• Ms Phonemaly Inthaphome, Director General, Tourism Development Department, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (DICT) and co-chaired by
• Mr Douangdala Phouangchanhla, Deputy Director, Vang Vieng DICTO, Head of Vang Vieng DMN Board and
• Mr Somphanh Sisoulath, Head of Vang Vieng Hotel and Guesthouse Group, Deputy Head of Vang Vieng DMN Board.

The purpose of the meeting was to present the Vang Vieng District Governor Agreement on Vang Vieng DMN Board, Members and Secretariat Establishment and develop Vang Vieng DMN Action Plan 2022.

Vang Vieng District Governor Agreement on Vang Vieng DMN Board, Members and Secretariat Establishment was presented by Mr Douangdala Phouangchanhla, Head of Vang Vieng DMN Board

Second GMS Tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth Project (TIIGP 2) activities were presented by Mr Vila Chanthavong, Project Consultant. Participants provided inputs on project infrastructure and tourist facilities investment and ASEAN Tourism Standards implementation, including

1. ASEAN Homestay Standard
2. ASEAN Community Based Tourism (CBT) Standard
3. ASEAN Public Toilet Standard
4. ASEAN Clean Tourist City Standard
5. ASEAN Green Hotel Standard
6. ASEAN MICE Standard
7. ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Award (ASTA)

Vang Vieng DMN Action Plan 2022 was drafted by getting inputs from participants in various topics, including tourism marketing, product development, tourism management and skill development.
